Detailing stock brake rotors

Those of us that use the stock Honda front wheel and brakes on our chops are pretty much stuck with the boring look of the Honda rotor. I've done a couple things in the past to spice them up some ..

First, of course is to drill them in a kool pattern of your choice .. That alone makes them look not so stock" .. but still not much life there ..

I've gone one step farther at times ... Grind or drill out the 9 rivets holdong the two pieces of the rotor together ..

Tap those 9 holes out to 1/4c threads .

Then you can either plate the web piece or paint to coordinate with your bikes paint job. Way back then .. I used to include that with a few other small things to have gold plated to odffset the chrome and paint .. but .. today .. that would maybe seem somewhat gay ..

Reassemble using short button head allen bolts with red loctite.. Making sure they don't extend out past the web piece .. You must use use button heads for clearance ... Standard allen bolts will hit..

You end up with a kool looking rotor that is merely a small detail .. but adds that little touch..
