Mark's 750 Honda Facelift
This is a redo of a bike I did for Mark Summers in the winter of 1994-95. Being one of my favorite nephews I built this originally from "back room" parts using a new Smith Brothers & Fetrow frame.

Mark rode the bike for quite a few years, the way it was built in 95. Mark and I had talked a few times about upgrading the bike and making some changes.. One day as Mark was at one of Denvers finest watering holes, a beer truck backed up and the bike was in one of his blind spots. The truck backed into the bike knocking it on its side breaking the kickstand off and creating some mild road rash.

Well you know the rest. Its a perfect time for the face lift he'd been wanting. So, Mark loaded the bike up and brought it back home to Minnesota. The bike already had a 9" SB&F girder fork from the first build. It also had a SB&F rigid frame First thing was to install a NOS set of 16/19 Invader wheels that had been sitting since the 70s.. adding new rubber as well....

The main plan is restyle it with the look of the red bike below. That build was featured in the How to Build A Cheap Chopper publication. Similar, but not exactly like it.

Yet to Come.....

  • More Chrome Plating.
  • Different 4/2 exhaust
  • Single front disc brake.
  • Stretched  Sporty tank.
  • 6" fender attached to existing supports.
  • Solo Rigid mount seat
  • Relocate electrics and get rid of box under carbs.

We're going to keep the Deep Plum color that's on it now and still do flames, but this time use brighter colors. Mark wants the beer truck driver to see it next time.
