![]() As a rule I usually don't sell bikes here or in my shop actually. But this is an especially nice bike that would be perfect for anyone that wants a Honda Chop with smooth clean lines and shocks to boot... All this for a very fair price..... Back in 1982 I built this Honda for my bud Russ.. He had an older Triumph stocker with like 10 over tubes and a 3 foot sissy bar. He needed a change and like the Hondas I was building at the time .. I started out with a 72 CB 750 that was a bone stock low mile bike. I gutted the bike and sent the frame to Smith Bros. and Fetrow to have one of their Series 1 hardheads installed.. When I picked up the frame I grabbed one of their 3" over stock girders to go with the frame. I used the model that they offered that was designed to accept the stock Honda 750 caliper and wheel. At the time I was having my fabricator, Ross Noard, making oil tanks that I had designed to fit the stock 69-76 K model frames . These would hold 3.5 quarts of oil, a stock size battery, and a removeable door on the back to access all of the electrics and switches. Of course, I used one of these on this bike as well. Then I fit a high tunnell Sportster tank to the hardhead and fit a round smooth swingarm from a 900 Kawasaki to the rear. I had Ross trim the brackets from the frame fill any unsighly voids and it was ready for paint .. After a good amount of molding I sprayed it House of Kolor Candy Apple Red (K-11) over their Orion Silver Shimrin base (BC-02) Then I layed out the flames and shot their Candy Oriental Blue (K-4) over the flames and then blended Candy Purple (K-10) at the tips of the flames. DJ Eckel finished it off with the striping and I buried it all in DuPont 4700 Hyper Clear... I assembled it using a narrow 19" front wheel and a 3.0" 16 rear wheel. I had Kieth Nybo stitch up one of his fitted seats and added an Arlen Ness 6" rear fiberglass fender. I shortened up a a set of Drag Specialties Fire Stacks exhaust to give it that nice deep sound.. I smoothed out the top of the cam cover and sent it to my engraver Jeremy Potts, in Denver to help set off the chrome covers on the motor... and then added a set of 26mm Mikuni carbs from that same KZ900 Russ rode this bike for the next 12 years and decided he wanted a bit more luxury in a bike and bought a late model HD FLHTC bagger.. It was then this Honda to our friend George so he could ride with us. George rode it that way for some time . In 2006, George decided it was time for a redo. George loved the way it looked and handled, so he wanted it redone exactly the same .. I stripped it down again and George sent the motor out for a total rebuild. I sandblasted the chassis parts and repainted it all exactly as before . I replaced all of the maintanance items (tires, chain, battery and so on) to assure it would be as a new bike. I reasembled the bike and finished it in the summer of 2008. Now George finds himself busy with his work, fishing and family and doesn't have much time left for riding.... so he's decided to sell it.. This a fresh redone bike with less than 800 miles on a freshly rebuilt motor from the crank shaft up... *Ride it home for $3800* Contact Tommy at (612) 824-8777..... or...... George at (612) 272-5358. |
